HLTAID013 is a nationally recognised course designed for individuals working in remote or isolated environments where professional medical help may be delayed. It covers first aid assessment, CPR, AED use, and management of injuries and medical conditions such as fractures, burns, bleeding, shock, asthma, anaphylaxis, diabetes, and seizures. Participants also learn extended care, evacuation strategies, and communication with emergency services.
On completion, participants receive a Statement of Attainment valid for 3 years, with CPR (HLTAID009) requiring annual refreshers.

HLTAID013 – Provide First Aid in Remote Situations is a nationally recognised course designed for individuals who may be required to provide first aid in remote or isolated environments where professional medical assistance may be delayed. This includes workplaces such as mining sites, rural properties, offshore facilities, adventure tourism, and remote community settings.
The course equips participants with the knowledge and practical skills to assess, manage, and respond to medical emergencies when immediate professional help is not available. It focuses on decision-making, improvisation, and extended care techniques required in situations where standard emergency response may be delayed.
Key Learning Outcomes:

Assess the safety of a remote scene and the condition of casualties

Conduct primary and secondary surveys and ongoing patient monitoring

Provide CPR and use an AED on adults, children, and infants

Practical Training and Assessment:

Certification:
Upon successful completion, participants receive a nationally recognised Statement of Attainment for all included units, valid for 3 years, with CPR (HLTAID009) requiring annual refreshers.
