Provide First Aid in an Education and Care Setting β HLTAID012
The unit HLTAID012 β Provide First Aid in an Education and Care Setting is a nationally recognised qualification designed for educators, childcare workers, and school staff. It equips participants with the skills and knowledge to respond to a wide range of emergencies involving children, infants, and adults, while meeting the compliance requirements of the Education and Care Services National Law, Regulations, and ACECQA standards.
This course goes beyond general first aid by focusing on scenarios common in education and care environments, such as allergic reactions, asthma, seizures, fevers, diabetes, choking, burns, bleeding, fractures, bites, and stings. It also covers CPR for adults, children, and infants, including safe use of an AED (Automated External Defibrillator). Participants gain practical experience through hands-on assessments such as CPR on manikins, using an adrenaline auto-injector, and managing simulated emergencies.
